Promoting The Social Well-being of Communities

Solidarity for empowerment, humanity first.

Humanitarian Solidarity for Development and Empowerment Canada supports vulnerable communities through education, mental health, environmental protection, poverty reduction, and empowerment-driven initiatives.

Humanity

Building stronger communities through compassion, solidarity, and empowerment.

Humanitarian Solidarity for Development and Empowerment Canada (HSDE Canada) is a bilingual (French and English) registered charity committed to supporting Black children, youth, women, newcomers, immigrants, displaced persons, underserved families, and seniors in Canada and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We work to remove barriers and create opportunities through programs in education, mental health, poverty reduction, and environmental protection.

Guided by compassion, solidarity, and inclusion, HSDE Canada addresses immediate humanitarian needs while building sustainable pathways for long-term empowerment and stronger communities.

Four pillars driving
real community change.

Every program we run is built around one of these core areas — each addressing a fundamental barrier that keeps communities from thriving.

01

Education

We believe education is the foundation of lasting change. Through tutoring programs, school supply drives, literacy initiatives, and mentorship, we help children and youth access the learning opportunities they deserve — regardless of their background or circumstance.

02

Poverty Relief

We work directly with underserved families, newcomers, and displaced individuals to reduce financial hardship. From emergency food assistance and clothing drives to skills training and employment support, we create practical pathways out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency.

03

Environmental Protection

Healthy communities need healthy environments. We run awareness campaigns, community clean-up events, and sustainability education programs that empower residents to protect the natural spaces around them and build greener, more resilient neighbourhoods for future generations.

04

Mental Health & Well-Being

Mental health is health. We provide culturally sensitive support, peer connection programs, and access to professional resources for individuals facing anxiety, trauma, isolation, and stress. No one in our community should have to navigate their mental health journey alone.
